FISO
Examine the schedule in the 2021-2022 school year to identify time in the 2022-2023 school year for teachers to get innovation coaching (designated faculty meeting time, specific PD, VCT time, online modules, etc.)
In the 2022-2023 school year examine current coaching and coordination positions and edit to include STEAM Innovation focus, where appropriate (e.g. Can we use our current coaching/coordinating allocations in a more effective way to bolster STEAM innovation?)
If needed, drafting a job description for a STEAM Innovation Coach early in the 2022-2023 year (by end of October) and proposing the addition of this position for the 2023-2024 school year.
At the start of the 2022-2023 school year, at each level, advertise and identify a cohort of innovation teachers (e.g. Start next school year knowing which teachers are interested in developing STEAM Innovation opportunities in the curriculum and using that smaller group to foster examples that get everyone excited and interested in developing their classes in the same way).
Measuring Success:
Develop a proposal to provide, either by redefining existing roles or requiring additional staffing, STEAM coaching to ensure that STEAM/innovation opportunities are being fully supported and provided across all divisions.
Redefining all STEAM-related job descriptions (i.e., Science Coach, ICT Coordinator positions, Makerspace Coordinator partial) to better align with Innovation and STEAM strategic goals in the 2022-2023 school year.
