STEAM Professional Development and Resources
Goal:
Awareness of STEAM equipment/technology/learning opportunities available to teachers/students
Connecting students/teachers teachers/teachers to the expertise surrounding STEM opportunities at FIS
Help develop a wayfinding source to develop skills and/or share skills with others in STEM
Priority Actions:
Facilitate understanding of new curriculum (science (NGSS), math (common core), engineering (NGSS), technology (ISTE) and use of a concept-based approach
Map out necessary trainings/resources to effectively integrate STEM
Articulate time built into the workdays that allow teachers to participate
Measuring Success:
Documentation (shared among FIS/FISW) of experiences which allows an alignment of resources across different schools
Go through a learning process with faculty on various STEM frameworks/curricula that we use.
Obtain surveys throughout a school year to show growth in skill level/comfort in areas of STEAM (NGSS, Common Core, ISTE)
