MAKERSPACES - Design Thinking Model
Goal: Activate access to innovative learning spaces and investigate further AI integration while utilizing design thinking models
22 /23 Each division creates a Makers Manifesto for the MakerSpaces/Workshops; each should be unique to the division’s needs.
Priority Actions:
Use the audit of spaces and resources to implement improved use and access for students
Review how frequently Makerspaces and tools across the divisions are being accessed and by which grade levels
Defining and determining where opportunities for Artificial Intelligence(AI) live in the Makerspace
Keeping a record of balance and equity of opportunities across divisions
Continue to develop the use of the various design thinking models throughout the divisions and document reflections
Measuring Success:
Looking at something more standardised across the primary and elementary divisions - Upper School has own
Team decided these would be co created documents
Compiled a list of pillar FIS documents to connect the maker manifestos to the school. Example (ATL charts, IB learning Profile). Team also included the SDGs
Team has a running list of created manifestos examples found on Table 3 in Manifesto Document 2.0
Measuring Success:
Co-develop with faculty and student input a division/grade appropriate set of MakerSpace manifestos to define space usage, design principals and a culture of innovation.
Timeline:
Have examples for all divisions both campuses by end of school year 21/22
